Ed was born and raised as a Tennessee Volunteer. With his ancestral history of military service in every war campaign since the revolution, Ed joined the US Navy. Two tours in the Persian Gulf, and an assignment working for NATO in Europe, Ed left service in 1995 to finish his education. Receiving a Bachelors degree in Biology and a minor in Military Science, Ed went into public service specializing in Indoor Air Quality, Infection Control, and Building Sciences. For 20 years, Ed owned and operated two corporations in Illinois: EC2 Inc and Safe Air Testing, Inc.

Married for 24 years with two daughters, two dogs and a cat, Ed lives in and serves the community of Woodstock, IL.

Currently, Ed serves on a professional board of directors for the American Council for Accredited Certifications (ACAC); Veterans Service Organizations include: Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW); Veterans Assistance Commission of McHenry County (VAC); and the newly formed American Veterans Alliance of McHenry County (AVA).
