AMERICAN VETERANS ALLIANCE

Jason Moody

(Service connected disabled)

US AIR FORCE

Jason was born and raised on a farm in Woodstock. He had many family members who served, including his Vietnam veteran father. Jason knew as a teen his path would include the military and enrolled in the Air Force delayed enlistment program in the summer of 2001 at 17. He spent his 4 years of duty stationed in Spangdahlem, Germany. During that time, Jason completed two tours in Iraq running convoys of supplies and contractors between Kuwait and Iraq while providing security.

He is passionate about mental health for service members and wants to help create open dialog around it while encouraging seeking and utilizing resources available. He personally has been impacted by assistance from groups and fellow veterans and knows without these people, groups and programs he wouldn’t have gotten the support he needed.

Married for 10 years to a loving, strong and supportive wife; raising two wild and crazy kids and a dog while residing in Woodstock. He is currently building a career in the HVAC field.

Jason became a life member of VFW 5040 in 2011 and volunteers his time with the post regularly. His favorite memories include organizing Memorial Day and annual car shows and other special events. He took on roles as Jr. Vice, Sr. Vice, Commander and sat on the board of directors until 2017. Presently he is on the board of directors of the new American Veterans Alliance of McHenry County (AVA).
