On 5 November, 2024, Mayor Mike Turner and the City Council of Woodstock provided veterans of Woodstock a Proclamation, honoring veterans in the community.  Rick Prescott of the McHenry County Detachment of the Marine Corps League and Keith Lyons of the Woodstock American Legion received the Proclamation on behalf of all veterans within the jurisdiction.
